Dr. Salmon Oliech Owidi (PhD) - holds a PhD in Instructional Technology - Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, MSc in ICT (I.E. & I.D.) - Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, MSc in Data Science - University of East London, Postgraduate Diploma in Education - Maseno University, BSc in Computer Science - Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
Dr. Owidi is an innovative scholar, instructional technologist, and e-learning expert with extensive experience in software engineering, digital pedagogy, and machine learning. His professional and academic contributions span curriculum design, artificial intelligence in education(AIED), e-learning system development, and pedagogical infrastructure enhancement. He currently serves as the Director of Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) at Tom Mboya University, where he has pioneered the digitization of learning resources and AI-driven proctoring systems.
As a researcher and academic leader, Dr. Owidi bridges educational theory and emerging technologies to develop learner-centered, technology-enhanced teaching models. He has collaborated with national and international institutions, contributing to research ethics, curriculum innovation, and digital transformation in education.
Dr. Owidi’s expertise in instructional design, data science, software engineering and artificial intelligence integration makes him a leading voice in modern educational technology and digital pedagogy. He is published in multiple peer-reviewed international journals and actively participates in scholarly peer review and professional associations.
