Tom University appoints Prof. John J. Wamwara to lead its Faculty of Law.

Tom Mboya is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. JJ Wamwara as Associate Professor of Law and founding Dean of its Faculty of Law. Prof. Wamwara comes to TMU with a wealth of experience and a reputation for excellence which the University is confident he will bring into his service of Tom Mboya University.
Prof. Wamwara is the outgoing Dean of Moi University School of Law. He has also lectured at the University of Nairobi, Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Strathmore University and Riara University. He has also worked for the International Criminal Court, the International Committee of the Red Cross and International Organization for Migration. These are important networks that he will explore for the benefit of our students.
Prof. Wamwara holds a Doctorate of Law (SJD) from Emory University(US), Master of Laws (LLM) from Emory University and another LLM from University of Geneva (Switzerland), Postgraduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi.
Tom Mboya University has a vision to train the next generation of transformative and impactful lawyers and this is one step towards realizing this vision. The appointment takes effect from 1st September 2025.
