LADY JUSTICE ANNE AMADI JOINS TOM MBOYA UNIVERSITY’S CMG ARGWINGS KODHEK FACULTY OF LAW
Lady Justice Amadu is a distinguished Kenyan lawyer with a wealth of experience in legal practice and public service, She is the immediate past Chief Registrar of the Kenyan Judiciary and has been instrumental in the realization of the transformation of the justice sector in Kenya, and the improvement of access to justice across the country.
She is currently Judge of the First Instance Division of the East African Court of Justice, a critical seat for advancing regional jurisprudence and integration, breaking new ground as the first Kenyan woman to serve at the Court.
Earlier, Justice Amadi served as the first National Coordinator of the National Legal Aid and Awareness Programme, an initiative that significantly contributed to what is now the National Legal Aid Service Board which is responsible for legal aid services to the poor and marginalized in Kenya. Earlier, she served as As the Deputy Executive Director and Head of Litigation at the Federation of Women lawyer (FIDA) Kenya, spearheading legal support services for indigent women through strategic litigation, research, programme development, and international partnerships across Africa, Europe, and the United States. She was also a private legal practitioner after a serving as a magistrate.
