TOM MBOYA UNIVERSITY LAW STUDENTS EXCEL AT GREAT LAKES MOOT COURT COMPETITION
Updated on October 12, 2026
In a remarkable achievement, our team, comprising Ndaro Mwandaro and Panivi Tenai, advanced to the finals, where they faced Strathmore Law School.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that this was the Faculty's first external moot court competition, and our students are barely out of their first year of study. Competing against 32 teams and reaching the finals was an outstanding demonstration of their dedication, legal reasoning, advocacy skills and determination.
We are proud to announce that the CMG Argwings Kodhek Faculty of Law, Tom Mboya University, earned two prestigious awards:
🥇 First Prize – Best Memorials
🥈 First Runners-Up – Oral Advocacy
Congratulations to Strathmore University for being a worthy competitor and winning the oral advocacy finals.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to iPeace NGO for providing this enriching experience and organising an excellent competition that nurtures legal talent, intellectual exchange and regional collaboration.
To our gallant student advocates, Ndaro Mwandaro and Panivi Tenai, thank you for flying the Tom Mboya University flag high and setting an inspiring benchmark on your very first moot court appearance. You have given the Faculty every reason to dream bigger!
Special appreciation goes to our dedicated coaches, Ms Phionah Achieng Uhuru, Kimani Kimani and Jane Baraza. Asanteni sana for your mentorship, commitment and for helping turn what once seemed like the wildest of dreams into reality.
We also sincerely thank the University for its continued support of the Faculty and its commitment to nurturing emerging legal minds.
At Tom Mboya University, we remain committed to developing the next generation of patriotic, innovative and evolutionary thinkers who will shape the future of law, justice and society.
This is only the beginning. The future of legal advocacy is bright, and the journey has just begun!
