The Council is established under Section 35 of the Universities Act, 2012 as the supreme governing body of the university.
Composition
Comprises a chairperson, Principal Secretaries, appointed members, and the Vice-Chancellor as Secretary.
Functions
Responsible for policy, financial oversight, staff employment, and strategic direction of the university.
