About

Eric Nyankanga Maangi is a Senior Lecturer at Tom Mboya University since October, 2025. Previously, he taught at the University of Kabianga from September,2015 to September, 2025.From 2007 to 2015 he taught history and Kiswahili in Kenyan secondary schools. He is currently serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Tom Mboya University having specialized in the history of education at masters and doctoral level from the University of Nairobi (2008-2011) and University of South Africa (2012-2015).
Having keen interest in history of education, missionary education, history of Kenyan education since 1896, history of British colonial education, historical and contemporary developments in education, oral history research method and indigenous knowledge traditions and epistemologies. He has written widely on missionary education and authored several journal articles in refereed journals.
At the University of Kabianga,Eric was a coordinator postgraduate studies and research in the department of Psychology and educational foundations, a member of the dean’s committee on curriculum review, member of the HIV/AIDS committee, member of Sotik campus library committee, member school of education research committee and coordinator education programmes at Sotik campus. He has been an external examiner for St. Augustine University of Tanzania and Kisii University.
