The East Africa Community (EAC) integration process heavily leans towards "marketization and commodification" polices, as opposed to integrating communities. This is largely due to neoliberalism and the shift away from the Pan-African vision that defined the defunct EAC. This talk highlights, interalia, emerging international law norms requiring states to support cultural and spiritual interactions among communities divided by international boarders.
