OVERVIEW
The Faculty In Details
Faculty of Business and Economics is one of the faculties in Tom Mboya University (TMU) that was created in September, 2018 following the re-organization of existing Faculty’s to be in tandem with the approved TMU strategic plan. The faculty houses ten (10) undergraduate programmes, three (3) Post graduate, four (4) diploma and four (4) certificate programmes respectively. It also trains students undertaking Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) Professional Courses. The programmes are mounted as regular, evening and weekend tracks depending on the class sizes. Weekend and evening tracks run for a trimester while the regular track runs for two semesters in a calendar year. The Faculty is a live to the changing societal needs and thus, strives to develop and mount other market driven programmes. The programmes are handled by competent and highly experienced faculty.

📜 Mandate
Our mandate is drawn from the University College's Statutes guided by the Universities Act, 2012. The Faculty shall promote academic excellence through development of academic programmes, continuous learning, teaching, research and outreach.
Structure of the Faculty
The Faculty is headed by the Dean of Faculty whose roles and responsibilities include:
- Approving faculty hiring
- Setting academic policies
- Overseeing the faculty budget
- Community interaction and engagement
- Supervision of staff and students
- Carrying out various administrative duties at the university
