UNIVERSITY COUNCIL
Dr. Augusta N. Abate – Chair of Council
Dr. Abate is Director, Dairy & Food Safety at Diamond V. She previously worked at FAO and KARI. She holds degrees from UoN and a PhD from Aberdeen.
Mrs. Sophia Yiega – Council Member
Mrs. Yiega is the CEO of Women Educational Researchers of Kenya. She has vast experience in civil society and education development sectors.
Dr. Stanley Mbugua – Council Member
Dr. Mbugua is Head of Corporate Affairs at ICPAK and has served in public communications. He holds degrees in Education, Mass Communication, and IP Law.
Mrs. Lily Cherono Koech-Sakaja – Council Member
Currently with NCR Kenya, Mrs. Koech-Sakaja has a background in accounting and administration. She holds a BCom, MBA, and CPA(K).
Mr. Johnson Mwangi – Council Member
Mr. Mwangi is Deputy Director at the National Treasury, with 23 years in public service. He holds BA and MA in Economics from the University of Nairobi.
Prof. Charles O. Ochola – Council Member
Prof. Ochola is the Vice Chancellor of TMU, with leadership experience at Maseno University. He holds a PhD in Demography from the University of Liverpool.
Mr. Johnson Mwangi – Alternate Rep, CS Treasury
Mr. Mwangi represents the CS for Treasury on the Council. He’s a macroeconomics expert with degrees in Economics from UoN.
